This policy explains how Linkers Ltd prices work, what is included in a quote and how payment works. We never ask for payment in advance. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
1. Free quotes
Site visits and quotes are free and carry no obligation. For smaller or straightforward jobs we may be able to quote from photos, measurements and a description of the work. Larger jobs such as refurbishments and landscaping normally need a site visit.
2. What a quote includes
- A description of the work for each area or room.
- Whether materials are supplied by us or by you, and what they are.
- Preparation work, such as filling, sanding, priming, stripping or subfloor levelling.
- Protection of floors and furniture, daily clean-up and removal of our waste (unless stated otherwise).
- The total price, including VAT where applicable.
- A proposed start date and estimated duration.
3. Validity
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued. After that, prices may need to be reviewed, particularly where material costs have changed.
4. Fixed prices and extra costs
The quoted price is the price you pay for the work described. Extra costs only apply where you ask for additional or changed work, or where we find a hidden problem that could not reasonably be seen at the site visit. In either case we will explain the reason and agree the cost with you in writing before doing the extra work.
5. Payment on completion
We do not take deposits or any payment in advance. You pay once the work is complete and you have walked through the finished job with us, within the period shown on your invoice. We accept bank transfer. Please use your invoice number as the payment reference.
6. Late payment
If payment is not made by the due date we will contact you to resolve it. We reserve the right to recover reasonable costs of collecting overdue amounts, as permitted by law.
7. Disputes about the work
If you are unhappy with any part of the work, please tell us straight away rather than withholding the full payment. We will inspect the issue and put right any fault in our workmanship. You may withhold a reasonable amount relating only to the part of the work in dispute while it is being resolved.
