These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to the use of this website and to all home improvement work carried out by Linkers Ltd ("we", "us", "our") for customers ("you"). By requesting a quote or accepting one, you agree to these Terms. Please read them together with our Quotation & Payment Policy.
1. About us
Linkers Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13270921), based in Aldershot, Hampshire. We provide residential painting and decorating, interior decoration, plastering and drywall, flooring and tiling, refurbishment and landscaping services.
2. Quotes and agreement
- Quotes are free and given in writing after a site visit or after reviewing the information and photos you provide.
- Each quote sets out the work included, materials (where we supply them), the price and a proposed start date.
- A quote is valid for 30 days from the date it is issued unless it states otherwise.
- A contract is formed when you accept a quote in writing (including by email or message) and we confirm a start date.
- Any work not listed in the quote is not included in the price.
3. Changes to the work and cancelling
If you ask for changes or additional work once the job has started, we will agree the change and any extra cost with you before carrying it out. Where we find something during the work that could not reasonably be seen at the site visit (for example hidden damp, damaged plaster behind wallpaper or rotten subfloor), we will stop, explain the issue and agree how to proceed and any extra cost with you before continuing.
We do not take any payment in advance. You can cancel before work starts at no charge by letting us know by phone or email. If you cancel after work has started, you only pay for the work completed up to that point and any materials already used on the job. This does not affect your statutory cancellation rights.
4. Your responsibilities
- Give us safe and reasonable access to the property, including parking where possible, at the agreed times.
- Provide access to water and electricity needed to carry out the work.
- Tell us about anything that may affect the work, such as known damp, asbestos, restricted areas, pets or fragile and valuable items.
- Obtain any permissions needed from a landlord, freeholder or managing agent, and any planning or building approvals that apply to your property.
- Remove or secure valuables and personal items from the work area before we start.
5. Our responsibilities
- Carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- Use materials that are of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, or the materials you have chosen and supplied.
- Protect floors, fixtures and furniture in the work area with dust sheets and coverings, and leave the site tidy at the end of each working day.
- Keep you informed about progress and any change to the timetable.
- Remove our waste from the site unless the quote says otherwise.
6. Materials you supply
If you choose to supply your own materials (such as paint, wallpaper, tiles or flooring), you are responsible for ordering the correct type and quantity and for their quality. We are not responsible for defects in materials you supply or for delays caused by their late delivery or shortage, though we will always point out anything we believe is unsuitable before fitting it.
7. Timescales
Start and completion dates are estimates made in good faith. Work can be delayed by weather (particularly exterior painting and landscaping), drying and curing times, material availability or events outside our control. We will tell you as soon as possible if dates need to change. If a significant delay is caused by us, you may cancel any part of the work that has not yet started without charge.
8. Completion and snagging
When the work is finished we will walk through it with you. Please point out anything you are not happy with at that point or as soon as you notice it afterwards, and we will put right any fault in our workmanship. Natural movement and settling of a building (for example hairline cracks in new plaster, or gaps at skirting as timber dries) is not a workmanship fault, but we are happy to advise on it.
9. Liability
We hold insurance for the work we carry out. We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for pre-existing defects in the property, or for damage caused by misuse, lack of maintenance or work carried out by others. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under UK law.
10. Your statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
11. Use of this website
The content of this website is for general information about our services and may change without notice. Photographs are illustrative and may not show work carried out by us. You may not copy, reproduce or misuse the content of this website without our permission.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
